Things are really beginning to get confusing with Westrend. According to the March 17, 1998 news release re the possible JV with Skytop their was the need for Westrend to raise about US$1 million. The following three options were listed:

> 1. The exercising of the outstanding $0.60 and $0.80 share purchase warrants of Westrend due in March 1998 and May 1998;
> 2. Borrowing against the assets of Alamo Logging Services; and
> 3. The possible cash sale of Alamo.

You can eliminate number one since I doubt anyone would exercise their options on the 0.80 warrants with the price sitting under 0.40. Todays news release announcing the JV between Hartfield and Alamo eliminates number two and three. So where does that leave the JV with Skytop? It would be nice if management can enlighten the shareholders at this time. Perhaps then future shakeouts, if that's what occurred today, will be avoided in the future.
