To Kevin, Charles, et. al. ... Don't have any special insight into these large orders (buy or sell). With NASDQ the trades are executed out of inventory of market makers (also abbreviated mm). Hence, a buy can and usually does occurr without a seller (in the usual sense). The conversion of preferred to common stock explanation sounds plausible (who else would get deeply involved?) but I don't have any special information. David
