"Market Makers"

"Trading with these market makers is somewhat analogous to playing poker. There are a great number of bluffs,fake-outs,antes ect., that occur every day in every single stock. Sometimes, it is easy to read the other guy's face and take his money. Sometimes you can read him wrong and get burned. The point is, there is no easy money in the market. Market makers need to take money out of the market in order to keep their jobs and get paid. They are not stupid and will steamroll you in their quest for profits. As a trader once said "the only reason there is money in the markets is that other traders put it there." The money you want belongs to other people who have no intention of giving it to you."
