Peppe, thanx for your Yahoo press release on CSCO and your previous comments and the - soon to be extinct- NN. i am always looking for a good reason to dump my Nn shares and move on to something better.
However as I look at your posts of today and the CSCO info I remain unconvinced:
-NN ha never produced spectacular earnings: what they do is put all
their money into R&D which is the highest in the ATM market; the
results are what has to be the largest No of TATM research
engineers, ~ 6500, double the no of 2 years ago: hardly a company
moving backwards; the result is also the most powerful ATM switches
around, the 36190 and the 36170 .So they have been the most focused
until now in the ATM field, a field that only now CSCO purports to
ente with this Yahoo announcement.Certainly the comp that allowed
them to do this, Stratacom, was never in NN's alley in terms of
quality of R&D and products.

-Don't you find it suspicious that they only quote one comp, US West,
as salivating to try their new product? US West was last mentioned
in the Wall St Jour as being on the verge of extinction by the
announced mergers of Ameritech & ?Bell South on their west and
Pacific Bell with SBC on their East: Wall St Jour commented that if
US West didn't hurry up and find a mate they'll may be out of biz
fairly soon.
-Finally I remain reassured that AT&T the oldest and premier world
wide networker, after being very familiar with CSCO WAN switches,
decided to use NN instead for the job. It may be pure coincidence
that their choice of Nn occurred after the famous 16 hour nationwide
brownout attributed by the press to faulty CSCO switching software;
no hard to proof of that, I suppose;AT&T -courteously, gg - denied
the allegation but nonetheless proceeded to dump CSCO and go with NN,
