Bill:I suspect Frank is right about the Dutch sale. But the problem with gold these days is that there is always another bearish factor waiting in the wings such as Russian sales and renewed weakness in Asia.

With the world on a de facto dollar standard, whenever countries experience currency problems they come under pressure to sell gold. As long as the greenback is king of the hill, a sustained gold bull (brief sharp rallies aside) is hard to envision. But when the dollar finally tanks a huge gold bull looks like a good bet.
