The best chance they would have with a national chain is a chain that sells primarily to do-it-yourselfers... That is where they have the edge... (Although on paper they have the edge in every category) In the marketplace... dealers are following the industry mantra of the single "pure" blend even if that means costly retrofits that don't perform as well... the second reason is that if a dealer was working on his own car he would be trying to do it for the least amount of money...if he is working on a customer's car...He can rip them off... It's like the ABC 20-20 shows with the hidden camera.... They make up stuff that is wrong and overcharge the customer...because the customer doesn't know the first thing about it... Where they have a slight incentive is on come backs...that is do the customers return if the job is done poorly and doesn't perform well... This is a slight reason for them to use the best retrofitting substance... The do-it-yourselfer market at an autoparts store would be a big seller...because here a person is working on their own car wanting to use the best substance that requires the least amount of work and will SAVE THEM money... The industry wanted to caopy freon r-12 with another single substance... It's ok for new cars built in...but it is a joke for retrofitting.
