Itronics Invited Participant At Major Government Pollution Conference

RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 1998--Itronics Inc. (OTC BB:ITRO -
news) today announced it is participating this week as an invited guest in a major U.S.
Department of Energy (DOE) conference on pollution prevention and waste
minimization in Seattle.

''This is a key part of the Company's strategy, to introduce our unique technology in
front of decision makers at important recycling conferences,'' said Dr. John Whitney,
Itronics' president and CEO.

Whitney said that all major DOE and Department of Defense (DOD) facilities use
photography at their numerous locations. Itronics' photobyproduct recycling subsidiary,
Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., will show the more than 400 conference attendees who are
responsible for developing recycling programs and technologies how Itronics' innovative
technology works. All DOE sites from across the nation will be represented, as well as
military, industry and academic experts on pollution prevention.

''Several military installations have already expressed interest in our technology,''
Whitney said ''This conference will provide other DOE and DOD officials a chance to
learn how we completely and safely recycle spent photochemicals.''

''Itronics' program completely reuses our precious natural resources,'' Whitney said
''The used photochemicals are transported to our Reno factory for processing into a raw
material used for fertilizer manufacturing.''
