Tunica,
Please allow the following clarifications;
<soon to be extinct- NN> I never said anything of the sort. My opinions lead me to believe that there are better networking stocks out there, not that NN will disappear !!
<NN ha never produced spectacular earnings: what they do is put all their money into R&D which is the highest in the ATM market; the results are what has to be the largest No of TATM research engineers, ~ 6500, double the no of 2 years ago>
As an investor, how does this translate as a positive ??? Also, according to Yahoo, NN has 5,761 employees in total. Where do you get 6500 employees in R@D ?
<-Don't you find it suspicious that they only quote one comp, US West, as salivating to try their new product?> Actually, no. This is quite typical. As another example, Lucent's IP switch announcement spoke of an MCI trial. As far as your negative statements on US West , were they not a big NN account at one time ? Would you still be so negative if they were buying NN ATM switches ?
<Finally I remain reassured that AT&T the oldest and premier world wide networker, after being very familiar with CSCO WAN switches, decided to use NN instead for the job.> AT&T is definately a premier service provider. However, your statement that they dumped Cisco in favor of NN is ridiculous. NN won a nice contract for a NEW service from AT&T but they have NOT displaced Cisco. You need to show some proof before making such statements. Nice try, though.
Cheers,
