Dell trading up today, but don't get excited. I do own some Dell but I have to say that this looks like a sucker's rally. The stock is operating in a fundamentally bad environment for technology. Intel's Merced is not the key factor here. The important numbers are: 1)ASPs 2)Market saturation and most important 3) ASIA As far a Michael Dell is concerned. I don't believe him. Every major tech company has felt the Asian fallout, except DELL? Get real. This group gets a little bit euphoric at times, when that happens SELL CALLS. It works most of the time. In any case Dell will be back, but the short term environment for the techs is HORRIBLE. Intel, the tech bellweather is slowing. I rember the days when Intel used to beat by 10 cents a share (think back). This is a sign that a growth industry is going to join the rest of the market. 20-30% year over year growth is unsustainable. That is all. Chuckie The Intel Page home.sprynet.com
