Nancy -

Sister, (may I call you sister?) I'm very aware that Jewish people have been unjustly attacked. I'm also aware other Christians and Muslims have been unjustly attacked. It's not a matter of who's been attacked more and who's getting attacked now. It's all wrong, IMHO.

You admit that:

All religions and groups of people have to bear the actions of a small percentage that claim that group

yet act as if Islam is the only religion that has terrorists (your comment immediately following the one above mentions heartaches of Christianity and Judaism and then refers to "those" Muslim terrorists).

Tim McVeigh did not claim religous reasons for the bombing

You're missing the point. Had his name been Mohammad Ibn Khalid, regardless of why he did it, Islam would be to blame. Do you see the double standard?

I empathize your feelings for these people but please understand that I am coming from the same emotion. There is very little understanding of the Jewish situation and very little interest in understanding from most people

I try to not let emotion cloud my judgement. I understand that there is a terrible ongoing situation and I understand it enough to know that I don't understand all of it. But my post was not even of the nature of that. It was of the nature of misinformation. Of what is true and what is not.

Here's my opinion of your posts:

You're trying ever so hard to make a wonderful case. And God's speed to you. But in order to strengthen that argument, you've resorted to misinformation about Islam. About the Muslims. After all, if we can make them look bad, it makes us look good.

I will support every effort that you might have in furthering your plea. But I will not stand for misleading statements about another religion for one's own gain. If you want to present an argument, present the facts and let the people be the judge.

I would be horrified if I went over to the Indian Cafe and found some Hindus claiming that Jesus said such and such or so and so. If it's not true, it's not relevant.

What I am willing to consider, to concede, is that your statements were not based on facts but on your own understanding of Islam. So if you really want to talk about what Islam may say about Women or Equality, I suggest you research it in depth (from non bias sources) before mentioning it here. Is that too much to ask?

You won't find me saying anything in a post that I cannot either prove from an independent source or give you my word that this is how I feel (after all, we can't prove feelings).

Would you support the statements made here that the majority of Palestinans are Christian?

There are many Palestinians that are Christians. Most Middle East Countries have a good makeup of Christianity. There are Churches in every city and while it may not be Protestant, it is still very much Christianity.

Remember, most Arabs are Muslims, but most Muslims are not Arabs.

I appreciate you for letting me speak my thoughts. Bottom line: nothing should be lost at the expense of another. This isn't a zero sum game (it's not even a game). Religion is a very sensitive subject. Let's not complicate that sensitivity with erroneous errors.
