I think at this stage one should take whatever opportunities
to reload. For money management reasons I coverde a short
at 46.5 long ago from 56, found a way to start back in at 44.5
today, trading part of another short that was moving more slowly.
My longs that are crushed don't give a lot of bouyancy to
my collateral so I can't jump on much. We are still in a denial
phase while the analysts continue to pour out their milktoast recommendations. GTW is excellent because it is inherently
weak and can move down quickly. Dell is tempting but too many
whipsaws working on the stock price, and the stock buyback
is executed at $44/share so only a large shortfall will become
a formal miss. Also I happen to think its
earnings can continue in current trend. Gateway however seems to be
starting another advert/sales/infrastructure push and they are
limited to US market. I think maybe the FedEx price weakness may
be a function of related weakness?
