Burt - Re: "see The Mythical Man-Month by Brooks for IBM's horror story on OS 360) " I read this about 15 years ago and thought (then and now) it is one of the best books I ever read. My favorite line - "Adding more people to an already late project makes it later" - which is the point you made. This book was recently re-printed and I bought a couple copies - for reference and to loan out. In fact, one day I'll tell you a funny story about a particular person working on a particular project to whom I loaned that book! Re: " Preannouncement guiding earnings down $.05 Near term 2) I am guessing that $65 will be effectively the "bottom"" I think Intel hasn't yet given up hope for this quarter - they are SCRAMBLING to pull in orders to make this quarter's numbers. They have the products and "margins" to possibly pull this off. I guess we'll find out pretty soon if they have managed to pull this rabbit out of the hat. Re: AMD I agree with you 110%. Those guys can't keep a secret - good or bad! Since the stock is drifting lower and lower, they have let the bad news leak out - and the stock seems to be telling us a little about the bad news.
