Re Sprint "FastTrack":

Anyone care to speculate on Sprint's plan to change the way we use our telephones(integrating voice/data/fax on one digital line)? Of particular interest is their decision to use Cisco as their key supplier, rather than the usual telephony folks.

Three questions:

1. Wouldn't it be nice if they decided to put an Accelar RS at the front of all those new Cisco routers?

2. If MCI/WorldCom and AT&T also see this as the future and decide to follow, what are the chances that they would need another router supplier(eg. Bay)?

3. If Sprint's competition does follow this futurist strategy, will the usual telephony suppliers(eg, Nortel, Lucent, etc) fear that AT&T, etc may also opt to deal directly with a router/networking company, and thus be even more likely to acquire said networker to stay in the ballgame?

Anyone have an opinion(on this thread that is deemed a rhetorical question!!)?

Paul
