I'm a professional programmer also and write Windows apps becuase I can make a lot of money doing it, and there is a huge market.

Actually, according to the Software Publishers Association, the Macintosh Applications market is far more profitable. You have much fewer costs for support, easier channel management (due to the tendency to buy mac software mail order) and much less competition. Microsoft owns its own application market. In the Mac arena, you can compete with them easily. An example is ClarisWorks vs. MS Works. A Draw on the intel side, but Claris kicked MS's butt on the mac side... since MS didn't have a monopoly to exploit. Another example is Disney's Lion King CD-ROM. It was released soon after the movie. It lost a huge amount of money on the PC side due to support costs but was profitable enough on the mac side to make up for the losses.
