Raymond, thanks for the brief explanation of Islam. I wrote a post over here once stating that Muslims, Christians and Jews worship the same God, and that Muslims respected Jesus, and got a couple of funny replies. I believe there are some people here who disagree, and perhaps they will come forward and say why.
What about Muslim women? In some countries they seem to have relative freedom, including the right to higher education and professional careers. In other countries, they seem to remain mostly at home, and are not allowed even to drive. They need permission from their brothers to do anything. What is at the base of these differences, and where do the original teachings come into this picture? |
