Sprint announced that it would be using Cisco equipment... Apparently, Sprint has been working with Cisco on its secret project for many years... I believe that the market valuation for Metro-DWDM industry should be going up from here on. CIENA has already been enjoying the growth due to back-bone network upgrades using DWDM. Now, if the focus finally moves to provide higher bandwidth into homes and businesses... it has to be well supported by Metro-DWDM deployment.. Besides SPRINT, PAC-BELL and few other RBOCs have already announced their programs to start providing higher bandwidths into homes.. Though, PAC-BELL plans to use ADSL/DSL technology from Alcatel. It and other ISPs would need to beef-up their bandwidths off the backbone networks.. using ATM and Metro-DWDM technologies. That's why, I think Osicom and FORE systems partnership is so synergetic. Let's hope, Osicom starts getting benefit of all this...
