Mike, are we seeing a domino effect affecting the "Eastern Western" economies of New Zealand and Australia? New Zealand ,arkets have been hitting new lows daily recently.

If that is the case, and if Russia does not come out of its own tail spin, the plague may spread to our shores. Start watching first the Hungarian, Polish and Chechian (sp) markets, they are weakening. These will finally affect Germany and the whole ECU structure. Someone better come to Russia's rescue or the whole world will pay in a good 5% decline in the GGB over the next three years.

I say it would be much cheaper for us (and Europe) to loan (even if we never get it back) $20 Billion over three years to Russia than let the state of affair deteriorate there. If we let it deteriorate it will cost us upward of $300 billions in the long run.
