They use to trade similarly when SEG bought 30% of KMAG's production. I believe after EDS cut orders from SEG, KMAG's shipment dropped to like 5% of their output going to SEG. KMAG must still be having expediture problems associated with closing their plant in San Jose after moving the majority of its production to Malaysia.
If your looking for a disk media maker, checkout HMTT. They are selling the newer high density platters to Maxtor and IBM which are dominating the market. IMO, HMTT will rebound first.
Me, I shorted KMAG from 15 to 14 and haven't had a position for a couple weeks, oh well, I'll take the money.
