DCF, I asked you to clarify your own words, and you did not. So I can only conclude that you were trying to start some sort of disagreement.

To try and answer your other questions, yes, the witch burners were all Christians. They were trying to destroy the agrarian nature religions in Europe during the Middle Ages. In fact, priests of the new religion ordered the men to beat their women from the pulpits, just as they outlawed women being the doctors and midwives.

Hitler was reared as a Catholic. As a child, he planned to enter the priesthood. He believed God was guiding him. There is a huge scandal still unfolding in Europe, about how much the Nazis were able to kill the Jews because Protestant and Catholic Europeans did not do much to stop them, although of course some individuals risked their lives to protect Jews, often hiding them in their houses. You probably know that the Pope apologized last year for an anti-Semitic climate within the Church, and collusion with the Nazis politically, especially in France. Today there was a headline about an ongoing investigation of the Church's role in Croatia during the war. I read an article about it in U.S. News and World Report a couple of months ago. There may have even been one or more evil priests who participated in the atrocities, but I think we should wait until the investigation is complete and see what the conclusions are.

I am sorry, but I don't know much about Charles Manson. Do you want me to look it up? I do have lots of urls to support my discussion of Hitler's religious background and the Christian nature of the Inquisition. I can provide them if you want me to do so. Some people hurt others because their own parents beat and mistreat them. Sometimes there is no religious influence at all. And sometimes there is.

The point here is not that all religion, and all believers, are bad, by any means. That would be totally illogical, and untrue. It is just that being a Christian does not necessarily mean that you are doing good in the world, either.
