CPQr's and Thread, Novell What if.......

First glance at Novell one sees dramatic decline in revenues.(whose getting market share? Where are the new products?) Profit margins remain excellent, costs are currently high with current sales levels. No real debt. Cash flow not too hot.

If, there are over lapping functional expense areas which can be absorbed by CPQ, thus reducing expense, a purchase might be feasible.
However, I believe you would be paying a premium for the Novell brand. With a market value today of 3 bln, a purchase price would probally take it to 5-6bln. Too steep.

Give me a few more days to do more research on NOVL. The above is only a first pass opinion based a very quick read of NOVL's 10Q and 10K.

Possible synergy, but I'd like to think about it some more. LF
