Been wondering why the stock has been moving up. Wonder how long this will last.
* AERIAL COMMUNICATIONS said that it has reached the 200,000
customer mark in its first full year of operation, joining a
handful of Personal Communications Services companies that have
reached such a milestone so quickly. "Such rapid growth is among
the fastest the wireless industry has ever seen," Don Warkentin,
Aerial's President and Chief Executive Officer, said. "Our
performance to date has outstripped our projections and ranks
Aerial among the industry leaders in the number of customers added
during such a brief period of time." (Reuters 07:38 AM ET

* Finnish state telecom group Sonera said it would pay $200
million for a minority stake in U.S. mobile phone operator AERIAL
COMMUNICATIONS. Sonera said it would buy 15% to 19.4% of Aerial,
the price and final stake depending on the performance of Aerial's
stock over the next three years. "The deal will make Sonera
Aerial's second biggest independent shareholder," Sonera said. A
Sonera spokesman said the company would buy its stake from
Aerial's parent company, TELEPHONE AND DATA SYSTEMS INC, which now
owns 83% of Aerial. (Reuters 09:36 AM ET 06/02/98) For the second
