EDIT>>It is obvious you still dont understand what I am talking about

On the contrary--I understand exactly what you are saying--I just don't agree with you and presumably an immigrant or naturalized citizen does have that right????!!! Come to think of it--even an illegal immigrant has that right--may be not the right of residence but certainly the right while resident to express his/her point of view!

>>I have had so many private messages from natural born citizens that feel the same way I do...<<

And I have not had a single private message from citizens, legal immigrants or illegal immigrants agreeing with my point of view -- so what does that prove???!!!

>>maybe it is a natural born kind of thing...and you either understand or you dont<<

Again -- I understand but don't agree!!

>>As a citizen in this country now you have two choices You either want to repeal all immigration laws
OR

you are willing to DENY someone the privilege to come to this country and have the opportunity to live up to his potential like you did

so which is it<<

Not sure what the relevance of this comment is--I have never espoused unlimited immigration--neither have I advocated denying others the right to immigrate to this country.

>>if you cant appreciate the opportunity given to you and all you want to do is trash the country you are living in, telling everyone America deserves no respect, the people are pigs, etcetcetc then stay home in whatever country you feel is so much better than the US and give someone else the opportunity<<

Good grief --we actually agree on something

Where we may disagree is what exactly constitutes "trashing the US". In my first post on this subject, I specifically cited some issues that I disagree with--that IMO does not constitute trashing the US. I could probably find a dozen others--and I could also find a score of areas where I am in complete/substantial agreement.

>>do I believe that some law should be put in place to deport someone if they trash America...

NO<<

Well that is a relief--and we agree on something else

>>(but we do have some laws about political views and visas)

Am very aware of this and it is far more narrow than you suggest.

Cite me one instance of someone being deported for their views as opposed to lying on an application for a visa or citizenship.

>>but I reserve the right to tell you to get the hell out of the country if you cant respect the country and its people that have given you an opportunity<<

And I reserve the right to tell you get the hell out with your point of view regarding this matter and that I have every intention of staying in the US and you can't do a thing about it.

>>to me it is beyond arrogance to take advantage of a country and use it for anything and everything you can get out of it and tell the world the country deserves no respect<<

To me it shows a certain lack of character and grace for someone to do this

>>and last time I looked at immigration papers....there were limitations on political views... and if you feel that is wrong
feel free to lobby for a change in that<<

Having been through the process in person--there are certain questions that one needs to respond to which can affect ones application--but if one answers truthfully then that is it. One has the right to espouse any political point of view thereafter. Check it out.

>>and once again there a MANY limititations on legal immigrants and they do not receive the same rights and privileges and freedoms as US citizens<<

There are a FEW limitations--one of which is that you can become President and I can't. But I shall not live in trepidation that if you do, there will be any sea-change in the freedoms accorded to immigrants and naturalized citizens--since I have a fundamental faith in the American people as a whole--and due process.

Now go back and look at the first posting that I made on this subject which set this off--a posting that lauded the US and the opportunities that it offered. You responded by telling me that if I did not like it here -- to leave. Youd responded to my posting about immigration being a factor in the vibrancy of this country by telling me to lobby for unlimited immigration--a point of view that I have never espoused.

And if you don't like the points of view that I have expressed then go back to your country and let me stay here in mine.

EDIT: Just received my first e-mail supporting my point of view -- must make my point of view right, for sure.
