CC Issues

I noted the following CC statements with interest.

1. Initial deployment with splitter. Ist quarter '99 splitterless option will be available.

2. WSTL CAP initially, because of prevalence of DSC equipment in current use. Migration to DTM and LITE solutions as time goes on.

3. DSLAMs in CO now. DSLAMs to be installed in remote terminal.

4. 2 million lines by end of 98. An additional 5 million lines by end of 99.

5. BA may co-brand ADSL modems for consumer market.

6. Washington D.C. 2nd largest market in U.S..

7. If Sprints recently announced plan is to be successful it needs to increase bandwidth to home. ADSL is the most logical solution.

The CC sounded conservatively measured and well thought out. The WSTL-DSC relationship appears tight.

Just my impressions. sg
