Not very likely that rates will be cut due to this product offering.

The ION plan needs to use LEC local loops to deliver service to customers. What are the chances of a fast rollout (or _any_ large deployment) by the LECs of unbundled loops to customers just to facilitate the LEC being cut out of all long-distance termination fees?

Medium and large business customers can already get T1s directly from a long distance carrier and avoid LEC fees.
