Yes, your thinking is reasonable. A lot depends on the consumable, though. Someone who makes replacement electrodes for etch systems is going to be much more tied to sales of new etch systems (and thus new fab construction) than someone who makes bunny suits and cleanroom wipes. Also, a lot of the consumable and materials suppliers are big, diversified companies (Air Products or Allied Signal, for example) who are less dependent on the semiconductor market in the first place.
