I think that basically IBM never thought the PC would become what it is today. It shows that Gates had vision and the patience to let it develop. He made all the right moves when everyone else was making the wrong ones. Give him credit. Unfortunately, the DOJ doesn't dwell on such things. They are less concerned with the good business man that Gates was in building his company than in looking at if he is using that same great companies strength to force others to his will.
