Frank, re " they made minimal (if any) reference to Internet access, preferring to tout the voice and integrated legacy data aspect as one integrated stream, being the grand theme of the offering." By the time they actually get this to the consumer market, Internet access will BE legacy data! How Esrey thinks the LEC's are going to roll over and play dead on the local loop is beyond me. But the biggest factor in all of this is, what consumer in their right mind would trust anything even remotely like an ISP or something as flaky as Windows to handle their phone conversations? It'll bring a whole new meaning to, "sorry I didn't get your call - the _______ must have messed up."
