Ladies and gentleman, it is not the product that is a failure, it is the management of this company.
Management has always been the sticking point with Vivus. Leland does not know which end is up. He is consistently behind the power curve. He cannot see danger. He's an accident looking for a happening. Leland though he saw light at the end of the tunnel. What he really saw was the light of a freight train barreling his way at 100MPH.
After reading the profile of the VA patients used in this study it's no wonder the product didn't work. Even a lay person can read through such BS. Surely, Vivus's management should have been ready to discredit the review. Instead they put their heads up their fanny's and mumbled, No Comment.
If this stock went to 100 tomorrow, I would still want this impotent management team removed..
Analysts have not forgotten the screw job they received from Vivus last year when they failed to mention the upcoming shortfall and we will be stigmatized for years to come.
