If it were me I would make the travel agents change my tickets. The other carriers are going to be overbooked soon, if not already.

And yes, the strategy might be >>let's get this thing settled our way before all the soccer fans in the world have trouble showing up.<< I think the games start 6/10.

BTW, here's a funny thing. When weekends and holidays come around strikes are usually called off for those days so that the strikers' own travel plans are not disturbed. Is your friend traveling on the weekend? <g>
