Who gives a crap who started this thread? What does that entitle you to? Unbelievable.

Merced is not the first chip that will use Rambus.

So, it's a moot point.

As to your "understanding" as to what Rambus does, I'll give you some credit there. I am not a techie and am learning. But your assertion regarding Merced shows that you know less than you think.

Stock prices are not based on historic earnings, but future earnings and potential. Chip prices will not fall forever. If you believe that, then you believed in 1982 that interest rates would be 20% forever. Or, you believe that PC prices will drop forever.

As Hyundai announced today, they are closing their plant for a week to reduce supply. Others will follow suit in order to reduce the current oversupply of chips. It's called the business cycle. Shit happens.

SIA said today that chip sales growth looks great for next year and beyond.

Granted, Rambus is a poor investment right now except for those trading it or those that bought the first month after the IPO. No argument there.

But when everyone thinks it can only get worse, that is usually when everything gets better.

Sorry about the tone of this post. I take exception to your claim on starting this thread giving you any greater authority on the topic than others.

IMHO, Rambus technology will be used sooner than you think.

Regards.
