I never considered that viewpoint. There might be some truth to that. I know there is supposedly no love lost between the Japanese and Koreans. My history is lacking as to the stereotypical feelings between the Taiwanese and the Japanese. Even so, it might have more to do with forging a relationship between the Chinese and Japanese for strengthening the Pacific Rim. I would hope we have a Political Scientist or Global Economist amongst us that could comment on these nuances. Andrew
