Get Yer G3 Powerbooks Here ... ! Well boys and ... uhh ... boys. For those that don't know, I'm no longer working at "the little computer store". For reasons common to other small VARs, the store saw discretion as being the better part of valor and called it a life. However, I'm on a trial period at Tekserve in New York City. And I can tell you, this is techie heaven we got here. It's the best repair shop I have ever seen, let alone worked in. Mac only for those who haven't guessed. Check out their website for flavor. tekserve.com One of the things that's cool is that we use a couple of G3 powerbooks plus a 20th anniversity Mac as intake stations for chrissakes. They have a 15" flat screen display as a while-you-wait internet terminal. And a real 10› Coke machine! And, we got G3 Powerbooks! I sold 6 in the past three days: (4) 250 mhz 13" and (2) 233 mhz 12.1". [So it seems that by myself in three days, I sold 3% of all of CompUSA total G3 PB sales. :)] ---------------------- We also got some 1400s and 2400s. We were talking today about how the prices for these units never really dropped much ($1700 for a 1400cs/166 or $1950 for a 2400c.) Says a lot about AAPL is handling it inventory. ---------------------- I've been thinking about what is going to be most operative variable about AAPL going forward and I think it's going to be its PPC performance lead -- across its product spectrum. This is going to drive across-the-board-sales for consumers/business/institutions who want the most-powerful-least-likely-to-obsolete-product-for their-money. soup
