patrick,

i have been bearish since january. when i say buying power i mean funds availabe FOR SHORTING PURPOSES ONLY!!!!!! i recently tried to play the long side with dell. i was bailed out by the rally and erased a two day 8k loss and wont be doing that again. im playing things only one way. from the short side. if i feel we are going up i will lighten up the shorts and reload at higher prices.

what do you mean when you say "dont get long and sell whenever it breaks down?

i am trying to adopt your practice of going short and covering a portion. then reshorting. i tend to close everything out and leave money on the table. if i would cover half i could ride out a gain. i think the time is right for letting the shorts run.
