CF,

<< I think that whoever brings CATV, phone and data to the home over one pipeline (with one bill) has a huge marketing advantage >>

a LONG ways off. It will be awhile (at least over 3 years from now) for volume mass for video over the internet to approach the appeal of CATV or simple vid rentals. Now, phone/data web/fax integration on One bill is what makes xDSL so great. If that 'one bill' happens, I think you'll have to see the cable TV co's combining with the phone Co's to make it possible.

so, 'whichever pipeline' will win is not a black and white decision, cable over copper or copper over cable. It will clearly still be both for AT LEAST the next several years (simply bc of what you said about CATV cant copper and also, coax cant voice) over until we can talk more about it and marketing advantages...:-)

all imho
