Seth,
I've been in all aspects of horse racing-thorobred and standard bred. If you have lots of $ and are willing to part with it there's no greater thrill than having your horse cross the finish line first. otherwise take a trip around the world every year and you'll have more money the end of the year. The tainers jerk you around, the vets overcharge, the jocks or drivers pay no attention to what their told or have every excuse under the sun why your horse lost.If you have the $ TO afford a Wayne D Lucus or Bob Baffert etc. you might be OK. I got out of the business a few years ago and now have the best of two world. One of my best friends has thorobreds and I get a big thrill out of watching and betting them without paying the bills. Good luck if you decide to make the plunge.
