It is very possible that the hold up for approval is the issue of HIV2. It appears the FDA does not want to approve a test without a valid license to detect HIV2. Currently there are only 3 companies with a valid license. Whether the FDA continues on this track, despite the very low numbers of HIV2 cases in this country is anybodies guess.
