Re: DLJ's comment that "At the recent E3 electronic gaming conference, 3Dfx had 160 game titles running in its booth."

This statement is flat-out wrong. They only had about 20 PCs set up in the booth for crying out loud! What they DID have was a neat poster that had TONS of screenshots from games that had "3Dfx support." There may have been 160 screen shots - I didn't count - and unfortunately, my poster bit the big one as part of my third attempt at luggage repacking (it was crumpled beyond repair by then anyway).

What I remember of the poster is that it showed lots of games that I'd never ever heard of or (more importantly) seen offered for sale locally. I can't say that I studied it in extreme detail, but I did notice that there were also several notable D3D-only titles such as CART Precision Racing. (I really wish I'd kept it now.)

BTW, by 3Dfx's own count (http://www.3dfx.com/voodoo/software/index.html) there are only 86 3D accelerated games currently shipping (37 Glide-only, 34 D3D-only) with an additional 78 listed as "Upcoming". Unfortunately, this page has no date on it (grrrr...) and I'm spot-checking it for accuracy now.
