Well, the mdb file extension was pretty much a dead giveaway for me on the type of db it was... From a systems standpoint, if I were in their situation and was putting out a demo, I would probably limit the number of entries in the database also for the following reason...
The demo only does a limited scan, so there is no need to distribute the entire database... Since the scan will stop before it would every check everything, they would just be burning bandwidth needlessly on all the downloads of the demo... IMO, I would think that they probably tried to identify several entries that are fairly common across a wide majority of PCs so that people can get a feel for what the software is doing and only included these in the db... So I wouldn't get too concerned, they really have no reason to distribute a fully populated database...
