You are certainly right that Japan is approaching an understanding
that a system of hidden accounting and accountability cannot stand
the confrontation with dishonesty....at least most of the time. But
I am not so sure they have actually started 'crossing the street',
perhaps they are still watching the street cleaner move down the block.
Not yet ready to venture towards the otherside.

I didn't see that CNBC program...but obviously there is some truth to
economic realities of changing funamentals and the timely abilities of
a functioning political system to change. "It's not suppose to happen."
Sony chairmans' comments a few months back were very important for
beginning these first steps.

On another topic...I saw that the European Central Bank made a debut.
Big task ahead for this to work....some say it will be as powerful as
the Fed....if it pulls it off. The ECB Council could become a very
powerful organization.
