Here's an Atlantic Monthly article that gives you the real flavor of life in Japan. We talked about this article quite a bit on this thread a month back. It just came on the Atlantic Monthly web site. It's a very insightful piece. Instead of being totally frustrated by the lack of progress in Japan's economic policies, one read through this article shows you it's not just an economic problem, it's a socio-economic problem. If you want to understand why the Japanese do what they do, I suggest reading this.

Very good article with lots of facts. If anyone finds anything particularly interesting, cut and paste it in so we can discuss!
