Oh boy, are we both in trouble!!!! :-)
The way I look at is like this. The christian religion is and represents exactly what it is. The core tennants of the religion are actually very loving, it is people who sometimes misrepresent it. HItler may have been christian, but he certainly didnt represent anything other than murder and hatred. If people are advocating disturbing the funerals of people, they may call themselves anything they want to, but they are not faithfully representing the spirit of Chrisitianity. AS you may know, I am not christian(I am a Unitarian Universalist) but I dont think we can say that aberrant behavior by anyone, faithfully represents the beliefs of any group they may claim to belong to.
A different example would be this. If a group of vegetarians started shooting cattle ranchers, I am sure you would be able to see that they may call themselves vegetarians, but they would hardly be representative of your views. (an extreme example, I agree)
