What is to stop Lucent from making an offer now? It takes several months for FTC approvals, shareholder approval, etc. anyway. I would think that the deal could not close before Oct 1st. An announcement of intent to acquire could still be made as early as late June. Does anyone see anything wrong with this logic? Please correct me if I am wrong. My opinion only, Bill
