BILL: if anything develops to challenge the escalating deflation scenario, the potential for an explosive rally is there with the specs so heavily short. BTW, everyone is not bearish -- Steve Kaplan is bullish for many of the reasons you are. But almost everybody in the Kitco gold discussion group now is bearish. This has sometimes been a good contrary indicator. Today's easing of the Russian financial crisis does lessen the odds of dishoarding from that source. But I am disturbed by the fact that Comes gold volume has been much heavier on down days than on up days. The next few weeks will be very interesting indeed!
