I know exactly what you are saying. Is your wife a big city pharmacist?

I agree with the revenue growth statements but Q4 revenue dropped because of production constraints when moving one line to the new plant and Q1 '98 was lower due to lower margins since product was committed to Astra. If you look at the IMS data you will see that the script numbers are better in Q1 '98 than Q4 99 and this is important. The revenues were lower because they are base on shipped product and not on weekly script numbers. Vivus was shipping product at the end of the year to the wholesalers to make up for the production delays earlier in the quarter. They could have held on to the product and book it for Q1 but they did not.

At this point weekly script numbers and info on shipments and quantity commitments to both Astra and Janssen will give a clearer picture on where revenues are heading. Q2 no doubt will be hurt by Viagra and Q3 may also be effected. Q3 May be better than expected if the new factory has 4 lines up by June as Wilson mentioned and a lot of product is booked overseas.

Vivus is a tiny company with only 30 million shares. Pfizer is a giant with billions of shares outstanding. Comparing the 2 companies is like comparing Microsoft to Systemsoft--there is no comparison.
