To all,

Anyone have a hint of how Apple will react to Motorola's warning today?

>>

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (CBS.MW) --ÿ Motorola Inc. (MOT) shares are likely to take a beating Friday after the company, saying it will take a special charge of $1.95 billion, warned it won't match Wall Street's second-quarter earnings expectations. ***

Motorola, based in Schaumburg, Ill., cited deteriorating demand and global pricing pressure, primarily in its semiconductor business, due to weak economic conditions in Asia. ***

In an effort to reduce costs, Motorola said it will slash 10 percent of its workforce, consolidate its semiconductor and paging manufacturing operations, exit poorly performing businesses and write-down assets. <<

I wonder how the PowerPC portion of the business is doing?

Sam
