Silica is defined as SiO2 [Silicon Dioxide]
[Glass is commonly silica doped with other 'stuff' to create desired properties]

CR Lum, I must admit that I strongly admire your persuasive skills. However, for those of us who haven't taken a basic chemistry course, there is one silicon atom for every two oxygen atoms in Silica [or for those cooks out there, approx. 1/2 Silicon and 1/2 Oxygen by weight].

Until someone presents more technical information on the 'glass' PEM, I find speculating on this potential threat to Ballard immature / premature.

My interest in Ballard, aside from their powerful bedpartners, is the US Government legislators pushing automotive manufacturers to provide ZEVs [zero emission vehicles]. I hope someone can help me out here, but if I recall correctly, California is leading the pack by requiring 5% of its new fleet to be ZEVs by next year.
