Paul,

<< Just last week, privately held Packard Bell NEC launched a fully featured PC priced just below $700 without a monitor, designed around a processor from Intel rival National Semiconductor's Cyrix unit. >>

Didn't Intel seriously bail out troubled Packard Bell a couple years ago? I realize it is a greedy feeling, but wouldn't ya hope for some sort of thank you every now and then? Maybe not...

On a different note, the increased frequency of Intel updates on their CPU's clearly demands a thick hand at the wheel of the machine. We are in a new machine, and I'm glad the excellent brass of management at Intel finally has to get off the sofa to break a sweat. This is when things HAPPEN!

all imho
