I agree with your analysis...the greater number of puts sold at prices below 12 1/2 the more certain I am.

As for Mr. Burns, the gambler going into a bet is prepared to lose his entire "investment" he may not believe this going into the bet...but the ball does bounce against you sometimes.....An investor is never prepared for such a cataclysmic event....he should be committing capital with a predetermined risk reward scenario that shouldn't allow 100% loss.

Buying say 200,000 shares of stock and then hedging the position by buying say 1000 put contracts is just being prudent and limiting one's downside.
