Interesting. Did you know that the SQL Server codebase is almost completely rewritten from its original Sybase beginning? Did you also know that Silicon Investor runs on a SQL Server backend. One of the SI developers had nothing but glowing comments about SQL Server & SI's NT middle tier systems in response to one poster's "NT isn't scalable" comments.

When I said that SQL server wasn't the fastest yet, I was expressing my belief that an Oracle backend currently provides a faster database. It is also my understanding that the delta is narrowing.
