Dale, I guess you are looking at the exponential m/a vs. the simple m/a. I'm not smart enough to know which is actually more meaningful (or if either is really meaningful). I agree, the 50 day EMA is just above yesterday's close. My SMA (simple minded average) is around 1108 or so.
